This Is Francisco Yglesia (Master of the Paraguayan Harp)

A 12 track latin america album (46m 38s) — released April 12th 2010 on Analogue Rock

Francisco Yglesia is a virtuoso of his country's national instrument, the Paraguayan Harp. A former member of the group 'Los Paraguayos', Francisco has been performing worldwide for over half a century, and his compositions are well established in the canon of Latin American folklore music. He has reached a new audience via YouTube, where videos of his performances regularly receive tens of thousands of hits, and universal praise. His first ever digital release, 'This is Francisco Yglesia' was recorded in 2009 in St Thomas's Church in Stockport, England. It showcases Francisco and the Paraguayan Harp at their purest: live & unaccompanied, and in pin-sharp high fidelity. The track selection is a mixture of traditional Paraguayan and other Latin pieces (including his signature arrangements of 'Pajaro Campana' and 'Milk Train'), plus several of his own compositions (such as the often-covered 'Vamos Amigos'). Also included is an acoustic re-recording of 'Shimmering Harp' from his 1980 debut album of the same name, and an all-new cover of Passion Pit's contemporary 'Sleepyhead'. This is the definitive Paraguayan Harp album.
